Like his father, Thomas Nothough of Totyngton Hall was known to be living in the reign of Edward IV. He was probably born circa 1410, when his father was about 25 or 6., and was known to be living in 1440, when his son, Charles was born. Thomas would have succeeded to the ownership of Totyngton Hall and other of his father’s lands.
