Thomas was the son and heir of Thomas. Born c. 1530, he was admitted to the copyhold lands of his father in 1578. His name appears in the list of Tottyngton Freeholders, 1600.

His will is dated 20 August 1586, with a codicil dated 8 March 1608 – 9. Thomas died in June 1609 and was buried at Bury Parish Church on 19 June 1609. His inventory was apprised in June 1609 and his will proved in the Consistory Court at Chester  on 21 September 1609.  His wife, Katherine, daughter of Holt of Stubley, who survived him, was a legatee and executor.
